We all love a bit of motivational music during a workout – there’s nothing better than running to a beat of Culture Beats’ Mr Vain or pumping iron to Survivors’ Eye of the Tiger, but what about when you’re in the water?

It’s a form of exercise I tend to avoid as I find it mind numbingly dull. The Mrs is pretty good at her breast-stroke, favouring this graceful sport as it ‘tones and tightens without being bulky’. However, even she has been complaining about the silent monotony of the swimming pool, juxtaposed with the fact that its school holidays and our local leisure centre is now full of screaming children!
